Nutrition for gastritis: what can and cannot be eaten?
Gastritis is one of the most common diseases of our time. Frequent snacks and meals on the run, various kinds of fast food, poisoning from poor quality food - all this can lead to gastritis. This is probably why many people are now suffering from stomach problems. But how to deal with them?
For this, it is absolutely not necessary to take the drug constantly, the main thing in treatment is the correct and well-chosen diet, which will not cause irritation of the mucous membranes and exacerbation of the disease, but at the same time saturate the body with all macronutrients andnecessary vitamins.
Ground Rules
The main task of the diet for gastritis is to adhere to a diet that ensures normal digestion. The table of treatment for gastritis (per day) should contain:
- 90-100 grams. squirrels (and 60% of animals),
- 50-80 grams. fat (75% animal)
- 300-320 grams. carbohydrate.
Nutritional rules for gastritis:
- Knowledge of size. With gastritis, the saying "after eating you should still feel a little hungry" is more relevant than ever. Firstly, a feeling of fullness occurs only 10-15 minutes after eating, and secondly, an overflowing stomach does not properly cope with its functions, especially with gastritis.
- Diet. First, you have to follow the food intake (together). Secondly, with gastritis, food should be fractional, 4-5 times a day, but at the same time it is necessary to refuse snacks (they provoke the secretion of "excess" gastric juice and reduce its production at breakfast / lunch / dinner, which violates the processing process andfood assimilation). You should exclude reading while eating, watching TV, and "running on the move".
- Rest after eating. After each meal, you need to rest for 15-20 minutes (no need to sleep). You can read a book or listen to music.
- Chew food. Chewing food for a long time (at least 25-30 seconds for each part) contributes to a more thorough mechanical processing of food, which facilitates the work of an aching stomach. In addition, hunger in this case is satisfied more quickly (which prevents overeating). Refusal of complicated dishes
The total energy value should be 2200-2800 kcal.
Nutrients with high acidity
With this form of gastritis, it is recommended to use a diet aimed at thermal and mechanical savings of the stomach, as well as reducing gastric secretion.
Allowed Products:
- casseroles, cheesecakes, dumplings, cheesecakes baked in the oven;
- milk, especially with tea, all kinds of fermented milk products, including yogurt and yogurt, fresh mashed cottage cheese;
- fish, meat or chicken soup cooked in cereal broth;
- dry white crackers, vegetables and butter, milk soup with cereal or pasta;
- steamed omelettes, eggs in bags, vegetable dishes in the form of mashed potatoes, puddings, souffles, weak tea, sweet fruits and berries in jellies, creams and compotes;
- veal, lean beef, chicken in the form of meatballs, pudding, zraz, steamed cutlets (1-2 times a week, it is permissible to eat lean boiled meat in pieces).
Prohibited products:
- mushroom broth and fatty meat;
- carbonated drinks;
- smoked meat with spices;
- raw vegetables, pickles, pickles, spicy vegetable snacks, lemon juice;
- black bread.
The purpose of the diet is to aggravate gastritis with high acidity in order to normalize the function of the intestines and stomach, limit thermal, chemical and mechanical stimuli.
Nutrients with low acidity
The purpose of the diet for gastritis with low acidity is to stimulate (in moderation) the production of gastric juice, as well as mechanical savings of the stomach.
Prohibited foods for hypoacid gastritis:
- restriction of pearl barley, peas, millet;
- fresh bread, baked goods ("heavy" food for the stomach, complicating chemical and mechanical processing);
- oily and salty fish;
- vegetables and fruits with crude fiber (white cabbage, radishes, radishes, cucumbers, bell peppers), mushrooms;
- fatty meat, meat with fascia (film), canned food, smoked meat (inadequate mechanical processing of food, excessive release of hydrochloric acid);
- spicy and salty types of cheese, milk - neutralizes hydrochloric acid;
- berries with seeds or thick skins (raspberries, strawberries, red currants, gooseberries, figs);
- spices and herbs (irritating to the stomach lining), as well as chocolate, grape juice, alcohol;
- lard and lard of lard, beef, lamb (not absorbed due to low production of hydrochloric acid, a product that is difficult to digest).
Food should be taken after the beginning of the secretion of hydrochloric acid, that is, in the first phase (advertising or programs about food, beautiful pictures of food, "delicious" conversations can trigger the release of gastric juice).
Diet for gastritis in the acute stage
Particular attention should be paid to the diet for gastritis in the acute stage. The requirements for the product are the same as for all types of this pathology, but more stringent.
In the acute form of the disease, it is recommended:
- low-fat cottage cheese;
- yesterday's white bread and no cake or muffins;
- lean meat only, boiled and mashed or finely chopped;
- soups exclusively with vegetable broth;
- non-acidic compotes and jellies;
- hard-boiled eggs or in the form of steamed omelettes;
- vegetable purees from various baby foods, it is also good to borrow fish and meat purees from bottles from babies;
- tea or infusion without sugar.
During the period of exacerbation directly from the menu, they are completely excluded:
- products with preservatives, flavor enhancers, artificial coloring;
- raw vegetables and fruits;
- milk and any dairy dishes;
- all kinds of pastries, except yesterday's bread;
- margarine, cooking oil and butter;
- pearl barley;
- all kinds of nuts and legumes.
Also, all general limitations on the product itself and the method of its preparation still apply. Usually, the crisis passes in 3-4 days, then the diet becomes more varied, according to general recommendations for gastritis patients.

- Fish - only low-fat types of marine fish such as pollock, cod, hake. Among river fish, pike perch and pike are the best. It is better to refuse canned and fried fish altogether, during their manufacture all the beneficial properties of any fish are lost, and a lot of spices and preservatives, carcinogens can be more than obtained. As with meat, it is best to steam the fish, limiting the seasoning.
- Coffee - It is absolutely impossible to drink black coffee with gastritis on an empty stomach, even in large quantities, especially with increased gastric acidity. With low acidity, coffee or cocoa with milk is allowed, but only in limited quantities.
- Meat - you can eat with gastritis, but only low-fat varieties - beef, veal, chicken, rabbit. Steamed cutlets are especially useful for gastritis, as the meat is finely chopped and steamed. If it is just steamed meat, then it should be chewed very carefully and not overused, as any meat product weighs on the stomach. Naturally, smoked or uncooked smoked sausages and sausages cannot be used for gastritis.
- Cheese - spicy or too salty cheese is not allowed for any gastritis, even ordinary hard cheese should be eaten in limited quantities in small slices.
- Bananas - Can bananas be used for gastritis? It is a healthy fruit that contains little fiber, is soft, easy to digest and contains many of the nutrients that the body needs. And although diet No. 5 bans fruits such as dates, bananas, many gastroenterologists believe that their moderate consumption can do no harm and bananas should and can be eaten with gastritis.
- Watermelon is something you can eat with gastritis, but only a little. With any acidity, you can eat only 1-2 pieces.
- Melon is almost the most difficult plant product not only for the stomach, but also for the pancreas and gallbladder. The digestive tract of even a completely healthy person has difficulty coping with melon, so everyone suffering from gastritis should give up this dubious product.
- Chocolate - it is better to give up this product altogether.
- Nuts, seeds, nuts - no type of nut should be used for gastritis, the same goes for whole grains and legumes.
- Honey can be used because it has wound healing properties and is considered an enriched and beneficial product. However, everything is fine in moderation, especially since many people may be allergic to bee products.
